The Luger Concept of building top-grade pleasure craft in easy-for-anyone-to-complete form, and marketing them to you at half the cost of factory-finished boats is one that has withstood the test of time.  Today we are still building boats with the same unwavering committment to quality that helped get Luger established some 35 years ago.

Our purpose is to bring as much enjoyment as possible to Luger boat owners while saving them a substantial sum of money.  This concept and our committment to quality is what has made Luger a leading manufacturer of boat kits around the world.

Owning a Luger boat is a sound investment, as the resale value of Luger boats has proven to be excellent.  Because every Luger boat is sold at such substantial savings, many Luger owners have reported that they not only recover their original investment, But make a profit as well when they sell or trade their used boat.

The Luger line of easy-to-build, trailerable boats encompasses a wide range of sailing craft:  from the live-aboard 30' Voyager to the 16' Seabreeze compact cruiser/racer as well as two powerboats.  Depending upon your own personal needs, there's a Luger boat that's just right for you!

Trailerability
A key feature common to all Luger boats?  'Trailerability'.  Every Luger sailboat can be legally towed and transported by car to the sailing sight - saving the owner the costs of dock and mooring fees.  This is almost  unheard of in large 30' cruisers.  Luger considers this a big plus.

Roller Reefing of the Mainsail
Roller Reefing, a key feature of Luger-supplied booms, allows the sailor to decrease the Main Sail area in rough weather by rolling the Main Sail onto the Boom Assembly.

To accomplish this it is necessary to untie the Mainsheet Halyard from its cleat, pull back on the Boom Assembly to disengage the locking device of the Gooseneck, and slowly lower the Main Sail while it is being rolled onto the Boom Assembly.  This assembly will lock after each rotation.  When the desired amount of Main Sail is rolled onto the Boom Assembly, pull down firmly on the Main Halyard and secure to the Main Halyard Cleat.

Quality Materials
Only quality materials are used in Luger sailboats.  All metal parts are corrosion-resistant materials:  All bolts and screws are stainless stell; all deck hardware is stainless steel or anodized aluminum; and all aluminum castings (such as those at the head of the mast and the ends of the boom) are ALMAG-35 -- a high-quality, corrosion resistant alloy specifically developed for conditions of high stress.  The mast and boom are extruded from high-quality 6063-T5 aluminum alloy, widely accepted as the ideal alloy for sailboat spars.
